about us

We are not high school sweethearts the way some people are, but we are, in our minds, a more realistic version of that tale. We met when I was a freshman and he was a sophomore. I had braces and was book-ish and he was experimental and dangerous—well, to me he was. I had the kind of crush on him that high school girls do: he was tall, athletic, and incredibly handsome. He was my fist kiss.

Fast forward through college and college athletics for us both, dating disasters and other drama, and we found ourselves sitting at the same table one night, years later.  Two more years and we were married on a hot summer night in July. Through architecture graduate school and the bumps of growing up and becoming home-owning, bonafide adults (well, any day now), we’ve managed to create a life together that involves a bevy of activities. We are both extremely interested in knowing and caring about where our food comes from. Together, we grow, make, can, freeze, hunt, and gather as much as we can. I rope him into helping me realize my crazy design ideas and projects around the house. We still have our moments when we look at each other and realize that we are completely different people, but this only adds to the color and life of our home and promises to offer many a laugh as we move into our biggest adventure yet– a baby, coming in May.

    Britni!

Your stories crack me up – didn’t know you were doing this till Dustin posted it and I happen to see it on the Home page on facebook 🙂

I just got back from a big trip to Vietnam. It was awesome! A group of us did a couple contribution events for kids while we were out there 🙂 And also enjoyed the country – Vietnam wasn’t on the top of my list, however, so glad I went!

    When is the due date???

I might be coming back home end of May….

    Take Care – Hugs
